There are a number of different types of radiator valve available. They all control the flow of water into and out of your central heating system. This is a vital part of heating your home, and if you're looking to improve your existing radiator valves or install new ones, it's important to understand how they work.
Depending on the shape of your pipework and whether it is horizontal or vertical, you'll need to choose from one of the following types:
Straight Radiator Valve
These are aptly named for carrying water in a straight line from your central heating pipes to the radiator. They come in a variety of styles, including flat front, corner and angled designs, so you can find the perfect match for your radiators.
H-Block Radiator Valve
If your radiators have a bottom inlet and you want to connect them to your central heating pipes at the same time, you'll need to install an H-Block valve. They are much easier to install than conventional straight and angled radiator valves and are also less likely to leak due to their simple design.
TRVs (Thermostatic Radiator Valves)
Thermostatic radiator valves, or TRVs, can be installed on your radiators to give you more control over the heat output of each individual room in your property. This can save you a lot of energy and money on your heating bills, as well as being much more comfortable for those in the room.
